Getting Started

WARNING! Before installing Gibbon, make sure your web-hosting service is already set for https for security. I changed this after an install and had many problems because I lost the site formatting. I am still looking for a fix.

Hi! The easiest way to install Gibbon School is to use a web-hosting service that has Softaculous in the CPanel. This is what I will be using and sharing how easy it is to do the initial install. I chose to use GreenGeeks because it does have the installer and also it is cheap.

Then the Softaculous apps menu comes up. Clicking on Educational gives you a whole lot of choices including Gibbon.

Choosing Gibbon opens up the installation page.

Clicking "Install Now" will open up this next window with the defaults already inserted, including your domain address and default admin account.

If you already have done this, you can choose "My Installs" from the previous window and upgrade your software to the newest version.
